BENDMTB ("the App", "we", "us") is a free community trail-conditions app for Central Oregon mountain bikers. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Anonymous Accounts

The App does not require you to create an account with an email address or password. When you first open the App, an anonymous account is created automatically using Supabase Authentication. This account is linked to your device session only — we never collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information unless you voluntarily provide it when submitting a trail report.

2. Information We Collect

• Username: A display name you choose during onboarding. It is stored locally on your device and synced to our database to associate your trail reports with your chosen name.
• Trail reports: When you submit a condition report, we store the trail ID, condition label (e.g., "Riding Well", "Muddy", "Deadfall"), any optional note you type, and the time of submission. Reports are attached to your anonymous account ID.
• Photos: If you attach a photo to a trail report, the image is uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Supabase Storage). Photos are associated with your anonymous account ID but contain no personally identifying information beyond what you choose to photograph.
• Location data: The App requests location access to show your position on the map, find trails near you, and let you tag a report with the coordinates of what you're reporting (for example, where deadfall is blocking a trail). We take a single location reading at the moment you use one of these features — we do not run background or continuous location tracking, and we do not build a history of everywhere you've been. If you tag a report with your location, those coordinates are stored with that report (visible to other riders, like the rest of the report) and attached to your anonymous account ID.
• Community events: If you post a group ride or other community event, we store the event title, description, date, location, and any link you provide, attached to your anonymous account ID.
• Content reports and blocks: If you flag a trail report or event as objectionable, we store which item you flagged, the reason, and your anonymous account ID, so we can review it and prevent duplicate flags. If you block another rider, we store that block on your device and account so their content is filtered out for you. See Section 3a for how this is used.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To display your trail reports in the community feed
• To associate reports with a display name in the app
• To enforce per-trail report cooldowns to prevent spam (stored locally on your device)

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

3a. Content Moderation

BENDMTB is a community app, so we moderate user-submitted content (trail reports, photos, notes, and events). Every report and event can be flagged by any rider. Content flagged by more than one rider is hidden automatically while we review it, and we remove content that violates our community guidelines (available in the App under Info → Community). You can also block another rider directly from the App; once blocked, you will no longer see any of that rider's reports or events anywhere in the App. New reports, event posts, and usernames are also checked against a basic content filter before they are posted, to keep out obviously abusive language.

4. Data Storage

Trail reports and profile data are stored on servers provided by Supabase, Inc. (San Francisco, CA). Anonymous session tokens are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. Photos are stored in Supabase cloud storage with access controls. Data may be stored on servers located in the United States.

5. Data Retention

Trail reports are retained indefinitely to build a historical conditions record for the community. You can delete all of your data at any time (see Section 6).

6. Deleting Your Account and Data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App:

1. Open the App and tap the Info tab (bottom right).
2. Tap the Links tab inside the Info screen.
3. Scroll to Data & Privacy.
4. Tap Delete Account & Data and confirm.

This will immediately and permanently delete all your trail reports, your profile, and your anonymous account. The action cannot be undone.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided data through the App, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — authentication, database, and photo storage. See supabase.com/privacy.
• Mapbox — map tiles displayed in the App. See mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
• NOAA — weather forecast links open in your browser. NOAA has its own privacy terms.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
